In 1981, a group of educators, artists, and entrepreneurs acted on a
belief that a young person should not have to leave the state of Illinois
to pursue his or her dream of becoming a professional artist.
Today, students travel throughout Illinois, indeed across the country,
to attend The Chicago Academy for the Arts.
It is my privilege to lead the school into the second
quarter of its existence. The Arts Academy has a firm reputation for
quality academic education and professional arts training. The school
also accepts the responsibility to provide the values that prepare these
young artists to be compassionate and responsible citizens. Arts education
plays a central role in helping our young citizens interpret a world
that is relying upon their input and involvement.
As you discover more about The Chicago Academy for the Arts, we hope
that you choose to share in our future. Whether you're a student, a parent,
or a supporter of the arts, we invite you to become a part of an institution
that is as vital to young people as the air that they breath.
The Chicago Academy for the Arts provides a unique and wonderful environment
to train and educate our gifted youth. I invite you to visit the school or
to attend one of nearly 90 performances and art exhibitions that occur throughout
the year. You’ll see a flicker in the eyes of these talented students
and feel the energy in the air as they strive for and achieve excellence.
Step into the energy that will connect these young people to one another in
their professions as artists, businessmen and women, and productive citizens.
Come see where dreams are born and talents are developed. The Chicago Academy
for the Arts is a place where learning is palpable. I invite you to share
in our future.
