APPLY TO THE CHICAGO ACADEMY FOR THE ARTS

The CAA’s multistep application process includes an academic review, audition/portfolio review, and a parent interview. Enrollment is open to incoming freshmen, sophomores, and first semester juniors only. We do not accept mid-year junior transfers or seniors. To apply to the 2010-2011 school year, families must submit a completed application, and application fee, by December 18, 2009

AUDITION/PORTFOLIO REVIEW

Interested students should sign up for one of two audition/portfolio review days by submitting the CAA application and checking the appropriate arts discipline audition/portfolio review date. Audition/portfolio review guidelines can be found on the website here.

ACADEMIC REVIEW

Applicants must complete their file by January 22, 2010. Required academic documents are listed on the application. Applicants must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). For more information on taking the ISEE, please visit www.iseetest.org.

PARENT INTERVIEW

Parents must schedule an interview with a member of the Admissions Office by selecting a date on the application. This interview, which does not include the student, is an informal discussion of the CAA’s programs and the student’s needs. Both parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

THE DECISION

Admissions decisions and financial aid notification will be mailed by February 19, 2010.
