Graduates of the Dance Department attend the nation’s most competitive conservatories and alumni are currently dancing with the Joffery Ballet, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey Company and the Houston Ballet.

Dance majors take two technique dance classes each day, which total five ballet classes, two or three modern dance classes (Graham based), and two in jazz per week. Ballet and modern dance classes have live accompaniment and the program is designed to maximize each student's individual talent.

World-renowned guest artists and faculty members work daily with students and professional opportunities with local professional dance companies such as Luna Negra Dance Theatre and the Joffery Ballet are offered to students.
