Chicago Academy for the Arts

Graduates of the Dance Department attend the nation’s most competitive conservatories and alumni are currently dancing with the Joffrey Ballet, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the Houston Ballet.

The dance department is founded on the concept that the transmission of technique is a developmental process that leads students in an exploration of their individual talent, creativity, and deepens their understanding of the art form in an objective manner. These goals are achieved by a program of two technique classes daily, which include: ballet, modern (Graham tequnique), Jazz, Men's class, Pas De Deux, and Pointe variations.

“The Chicago Academy for the Arts is nationally recognized for its professional level of training. I am delighted that two of our company members are graduates of this outstanding institution.”
– Peter Martins, Artistic Director of New York City Ballet
