The craft of theatre encompasses multiple components. Therefore, the Arts Academy developed the Theatre Generalist Program that introduces students to the discipline as a whole.

Throughout students tenure in the theatre program they explore acting, movement, technical theatre, and a host of electives through a curriculum modeled after top theatre conservatories around the country. The Generalist Program is designed to expose each student to all aspects of the theatrical art form and thus help them to discover their true passion within the craft.

The Theatre Department runs a full season of productions in accordance with our class studies. Throughout the course of the year students are exposed to a contemporary production, classical production, student directed one-act series, playwriting festival, movement workshop, class work showcase, and a freshmen level readers theatre piece.

Graduates of the Theatre Department attend programs at the nation’s leading conservatories, universities, and professional schools. Alumni may be seen on and off Broadway, television, and in major motion pictures.
