Each year, Academy students produce and perform in a benefit show to support HIV/AIDS research. The 23rd Annual AIDS Benefit will take place September 20 and 21! Students from each department will present new work, under the direction and curation of student leadership. All proceeds after costs go to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Our goal is to raise $10,000! Visit our website for tickets. Also, support the AIDS Benefit by purchasing an AIDS Benefit T-shirt!

7th Grade Families! Please join us on March 27 and April 17 for 7th Grade Preview Day.

7th Grade Preview Day is an opportunity for students to observe an arts department they are interested in while parents attend an informational session with Head of School Jason Patera and Director of Enrollment Management Kitsana Salyphone. Families will then take a brief tour of the school. Please contact the Admissions Office at 312.421.0202 if you have any questions. The event will begin at 3 p.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. Please plan on checking in at 2:45 p.m.! *Space is limited, and therefore priority will be given to families with students in 7th grade. If your student is currently in 6th grade, and you would like to attend, please contact the Admissions Office.

The Chicago Academy for the Arts is pleased to invite interested families to The Academy for the Media Arts Open House on November 16, 2019 at 1 p.m. A presentation of their Fall Show will follow immediately after at 2 p.m.

Academic Night open houses are a great opportunity to get to know the Academy Academic Faculty. These events tend to fill up, so register soon!

Interested parents and students are invited to visit a schedule of five academic classes. Sessions will be taught in 20-minute intervals so that families are able to explore each of our core subject areas. Each class will be a unique look into our curriculum and direct access to our award-winning faculty.

Check-in will begin at 5:30PM and classes will begin at 5:50PM. The evening will conclude at 8:30PM. We hope you can join us!

The Chicago Academy for the Arts is pleased to invite interested families to The Academy for the Visual Arts Exhibitions on Friday, November 8, and Friday, January 31 (be sure to indicate which date on the form). An information session with Visual Arts Department Chair Margy Stover and Visual Arts students will begin at 4 p.m. and the department's exhibit will follow at 5 p.m.

Musical Theatre Open House! Registration on our website.

The Chicago Academy for the Arts is pleased to invite interested families to the Musical Theatre Department's Fall Show on Saturday, October 19. The department's performance will begin at 2 p.m., and an information session with Musical Theatre Department Chair Andy Robinson and Musical Theatre Department students will begin immediately following the performance (around 4 p.m.). All families are welcome to register for this event, but space is limited. Therefore, registration for eligible applicants (current 8th, 9th and 10th grade students and their parents) will be prioritized.

Each arts department at The Academy has structured their Open House around one of their performances, exhibitions, or shows. This will give you an opportunity to see the work of current Academy students, in addition to information sessions with students and faculty. Register for the Fall Saturday Program at The Academy! 10 weeks later this year, from September 14 - November 16.

The Academy offers a ten-week Saturday program for students entering the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the fall. The 2019 fall program will feature five concentrations: Dance: Ballet and Modern, Media Arts: Explorations in Filmmaking and Animation, Music: Jazz Combo for Instrumentalists & Vocalists, Theatre & Musical Theatre: Shakespeare Scene Study and Technique, and Visual Arts: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, and Sculpture.

The 2019 fall session will begin September 14 and conclude November 16. Each session begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 12 p.m.
