Dear Families and Friends,
This year’s All-School Showcase is on Thursday, February 16 at the Athenaeum Theatre (see page 7 for details). Showcase will feature top work from each arts department and the presentation of our first-ever Faculty Legacy Award, honoring history teacher Tim Tynan.
Mr. Tynan has been a beloved fixture in the Academy community for 16 years, and has the distinction of teaching nearly every Academy student during that time. He has dramatically impacted The Academy’s mission, culture, and community, and his integrity and dedication have inspired us all. Please join us on February 16 to celebrate Tim, and—of course—this incredible group of young artists.
Anyone who has spent any amount of time at The Academy understands how important “community” is to us, and this issue’s profile of alum (and current parent) Shannon Greene Robb helps to show why. Shannon graduated from The Academy in 1989, and has been part of the fabric of this place ever since. Read more about her fascinating story and work on Page 9.
Finally, Summer Program registration is ongoing, and applications for the fall school year are open until January 31. Help us spread the word!
