Melissa Metelits became a faculty member in 2018 and teaches Algebra II, Precalculus, AP Calculus BC, and AP Computer Science. She has taught and tutored a variety of subjects in Philadelphia, her home town, and in Chicago. Metelits moved from Philly in 2017 with her fiancé and two cats, Ginny and Luna. She studied film, theatre arts, creative writing, and mathematics as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, and later at Temple University. In addition to teaching math, Metelits is also a script reader for The Black List. She strives to help every student find confidence with math, to be a creative and humanitarian person, and to watch Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and Parks and Recreation as many times as it takes.
