Theatre & Musical Theatre
The Theatre and Musical Theatre Summer Program focuses on professional training in acting, voice (both singing and speaking), and dance and/or stage movement. In addition, students may have the opportunity to work with The Academy’s faculty on various technical aspects of the theatre. The camp will culminate in a presentation of material on the final day.
Camp attendees will spend their mornings working in specific Theatre and Musical Theatre related workshops including, stage combat, solo and group singing, Shakespeare, Musical Theatre dance, and voice & diction. Chosen material will include scenes and songs from the Department’s professional training curriculums including William Shakespeare, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Cole Porter, and others. Afternoons will focus on work for our final presentation.
