James Burke
James Burke is a passionate science instructor with experience teaching a variety of lecture and laboratory courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, geology and astronomy at the University and College levels including: DePaul University, Harold Washington College, Roosevelt University, and Oakton College. Mr. Burke is a chemist with a Bachelor of Science in General Chemistry from Purdue University and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Organic Chemistry from DePaul University. Prior to coming to The Chicago Academy for the Arts, Mr. Burke was involved in cancer research within the Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University. He has a deep appreciation for teaching, learning and reading. Mr. Burke is also interested in: astronomy, physics, geology, music, chess, philosophy and medieval history. Mr. Burke enjoys singing and playing guitar and piano."
