INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS
We are thrilled to welcome international students to The Academy! Joining our community from abroad is an incredible step, and our goal is to make the application process as seamless and approachable as possible.
The International Admissions Process
Your application deadlines are exactly the same as our first-year and transfer applicants (you can find these right on our admissions homepage).
Here is how to get started:
Submit your application: Complete the online application and submit the application fee.
Schedule your interview: All international applicants and their families will have interviews. Reach out to us at admissions@chicagoartsacademy.org to schedule your virtual interview either through Zoom or Google Meets – whichever is easier for you.
Show us your potential: Following your interview, you'll receive an invitation to schedule a virtual audition or portfolio review based on your specific department of interest. Remember, we are looking for potential—not perfection!
Planning Your Move to Chicago
Housing & Homestays: While The Academy does not offer boarding at this time, we encourage students and families to research the wonderful housing and homestay options available all across Chicago. For international students from China who are in need of homestay placement, The Academy partners with Cornerstone Education. All international students must live with a parent or legal guardian appointed under the Illinois courts and/or be under the care of their international service/organization, regardless of legal age. Please feel free to reach out to Admissions with any questions as you explore your options.
Tuition Assistance: Please note that we are currently unable to offer much in the way of tuition assistance for international students at this time.
Securing Your Spot: If admitted, you will receive an enrollment contract clearly outlining your tuition and fees. Submitting your deposit at that time will officially secure your enrollment, as well as begin the international student-visa process.
