Dance: Fundamentals
Grades 6 - 9
This dynamic program will immerse your student in the day to day training of The Chicago Academy for the Arts Dance Department. This Summer Intensive will focus on ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary techniques as well as improvisation, partnering and body conditioning. Students will also learn repertoire performed by the Chicago Academy for the Arts students. Classes will be taught by Academy faculty, master teachers, and current working professionals from companies like Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Giordano Dance Chicago, and Visceral Dance Company.

Making Movies
Grades 6 - 9
Your student will work together with other filmmakers as they dream up a story, write it, shoot it, and edit it all within a week. No experience necessary.
Students will get hands-on experience working with industry software and technology and storyboarding basics as their projects move from idea to reality.

The Art of the Ensemble
Grades 6 - 9
Join us for a 5-day winter intensive in ensemble performance! Students will build skills in Middle School choir, guitar/ukulele ensemble, and sight-singing, culminating in a produced recording session for students and families to enjoy!

Puppetry and Winter Wonders
Grades 7 - 9
Join us for a wondrous winter week at the Academy where students will learn the fundamentals of physical storytelling, puppetry and imaginative play!

The Saturday Program is for students currently in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade regardless of age.
The Summer Program is for students heading into 7th, 8th, or 9th grade, also regardless of age.

The Saturday Program is $475 for both sessions or $250 for one session.
The Summer Program is $995.

Yes. Please email Program Coordinator Sarah Grant to pay your registration fee in installments.

We refund registrations up to 30 days before the start date of the program. For cancellations later than this please contact the program manager at programs@chicagoartsacademy.org to apply your payment to a future class.

Our educators include performers from the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, dancers from The Joffrey Ballet, award-winning filmmakers, and more.
With guidance from these accomplished artists, students receive hands-on training that offers a deep, real-world understanding of the arts.
