“Somewhere between 400 and 1,200 kids audition for each musical theatre BFA program, and she was accepted as one of ten boys and ten girls at TCU. The experience here at The Academy really helped her with that kind of competition,” said Avery Gray’s mother, Mindy. “But I think The Academy is a school where both academically and artistically, self-motivated kids thrive.”
Avery (Musical Theatre, ‘16) joined The Academy as a junior transfer student and was determined to make the best of her time here. We’re proud to say that she will begin pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at TCU in the fall! A leader within her department, Avery recently played Carla in The Academy’s production of "Nine" and three weeks ago produced a successful Senior Recital featuring the entire Musical Theatre Department.
They’ll never forget the Academy community.“It is really interesting when you come here from such a different type of school. Her friendships here are so diverse…from all backgrounds and ethnicities. And they are truly a family.”
Best of luck to Avery in Texas, and congratulations!
