Dear Friends,
Saturday evening’s Showcase was a truly magical event, and we are thrilled that so many of you could be a part of the largest audience in The Academy’s history.
The highlight of the evening, of course, was the presentation of the 2019 Faculty Legacy Award to the legendary Randy Duncan, and his beautiful speech about the phone call that changed his life.
Since Saturday, we have received dozens of emails and texts from our guests — from prospective students to renowned education and arts leaders — raving about what they witnessed, and we are truly grateful for everyone’s continued support of this special community.
Our performance and exhibit schedule continues next month and beyond with the Theatre Department’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, the Media Arts Spring Festival, the annual Jazz Concert at Jazz Showcase, Musical Theatre’s A Man of No Importance, the Faculty- and Guest-Choreographed Dance Concert at the Athenaeum, and the Visual Arts Spring Exhibition. Finally, please plan to join us for our annual Gala, honoring songwriting superstar Justin Tranter, on May 18th at the Palmer House Hilton.
