Youth & Government Pre-Leg Event

On Friday, November 7, The Academy's Youth & Government delegation attended their first pre-legislative session of the year.

The students had been working hard selecting state issues that they will address this spring at the General Assembly in Springfield. Their bills ranged from protecting new mothers, creating more canine inclusive domestic violence centers, and addressing more affordable university costs in Illinois. They represented our community well and learned next steps in their bill editing process.

They will be in Sycamore for Pre-Legislation II on December 13 for their second round of bill debates!
