Annual Fundraising Gala 2016
The Chicago Academy for the Arts welcomed over 200 guests to the Chicago Athletic Club Hotel on Saturday for its annual fundraising Gala “Movers, Shakers, Art Makers.” The Academy’s 2016 Fundraising Gala is its largest fundraising event of the year and included performances by students in all six arts departments in addition to a live and silent auction.

Chicago native Neil Tesser hosted a lecture for Academy music students this month. His experience as a jazz writer and saxophonist provided students with advice and encouragement about music journalism and a career in jazz.

Visiting Artist Tom Torluemke
Visiting Artist Tom Torluemke has been working with Academy students making inlay paper collages. He has been teaching techniques for how to create three separate but harmonious color patterns on different pieces of paper, and then cut and mix them up into different designs.

Musical Theatre Spring Show "Nine"
Check out a few pictures from Musical Theatre's Spring Show Nine. The production is based on Federico Fellini’s iconic and autobiographical film 8 ½. The story concerns the great film director Guido Contini (the Fellini stand-in) who is facing a personal and artistic crisis on the verge of his fortieth birthday.
